Where we work

In the lab

Our lab is located in the Linguistics Department at the University of Pennsylvania. Our address is 3401-C Walnut Street, Room 472, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Undergraduate research assistants almost always work in our main lab location. Occasionally, research assistants travel to offsite locations (daycares, schools, camps, etc) to run babies or children in our studies. Programmers are required to work in the main lab space at least 6 hours per week. Student illustrators are required to work in the main lab space at least 6 hours per week. PhD students and post-docs are also welcome to work in the main lab space whenever they wish.

Katie’s office is located outside the lab in the Linguistics Department, room 314C.

From home

Postdocs and PhD students are free to work from home whenever they choose to, so long as they are being productive and are engaging with the lab remotely. Programmers and student illustrators are required to work in the main lab space at least 6 hours per week, but they may choose to work from home for any hours beyond that.

Research assistants may not work from home unless they have special permission from Katie to do so.

From shared work spaces

Post-docs, PhD students, Programmers and Illustrators are also free to work from various other shared work spaces on and off campus. Some places you might find them include the shared graduate student office in the linguistics department, in the linguistics department library, in other libraries on campus, or at coffee shops around Philly.
